In 1970, four young musicians from the South Bay of Los Angeles came together to create a bold, genre-defying new sound. Drawing from progressive rock, classical elements, world influences, and the soulful roots of blues and R&B, Joseph Puerta, David Pack, Christopher North, and Burleigh Drummond formed a band that would soon be known as Ambrosia.

Early on, critics hailed them as “America’s answer to Yes and King Crimson,” but Ambrosia quickly proved they were far more than a response to any movement. Their albums blended intricate arrangements with emotional depth, attracting collaborations with cultural greats such as Leonard Bernstein, Kurt Vonnegut Jr., and Alan Parsons.

Throughout their recording career, Ambrosia earned five Grammy nominations, five hit singles, extensive FM radio airplay, and a devoted worldwide following. Their concerts became sold-out events, celebrated for their musicianship, creativity, and genre-blending innovation.
