Chicago Tribute Anthology

Chicago Tribute Anthology is an eight-piece horn band dedicated to celebrating the groundbreaking music and unmistakable sound of Chicago, one of the most successful and enduring bands in American music history.

Focusing on the legendary band’s extraordinary early years, Chicago Tribute Anthology brings the “Golden Age” of Chicago to life with meticulous performances of music from the first eleven albums. With a powerful rock rhythm section, soaring vocals, and the essential horn arrangements that became a signature of the Chicago sound, the band recreates the music with exceptional attention to detail.

Chicago first burst onto the national music scene in 1969 as Chicago Transit Authority, blending rock & roll with jazz, blues, and Latin influences to create a sound unlike anything else on the radio. Their groundbreaking debut album went double platinum and introduced audiences to classics including “Beginnings,” “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?” and “Questions 67 and 68.”

The band’s remarkable momentum continued with Chicago II, featuring enduring favorites such as “Make Me Smile,” “Colour My World,” and “25 or 6 to 4.” Throughout the 1970s, Chicago became a dominant force in popular music, producing an extraordinary catalog that included “Saturday in the Park,” “Feelin’ Stronger Every Day,” “Just You ‘n’ Me,” “Call on Me,” “Old Days,” “Free,” and many more.

Chicago Tribute Anthology captures the adventurous musicianship, complex arrangements, unforgettable melodies, and explosive horn-driven sound that made this period of Chicago’s career so extraordinary.

The eight accomplished musicians behind the show are veterans of the Chicago-area music scene whose collective experience includes performances with nationally recognized artists and ensembles including Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Mel Tormé, Tony Bennett, the Woody Herman Orchestra, Bill Russo and the Chicago Jazz Ensemble, along with many of the region’s finest musicians and groups.

For longtime Chicago fans, it’s an opportunity to experience these extraordinary songs performed live with the instrumentation and musical depth they deserve. For new audiences, Chicago Tribute Anthology offers a journey into the remarkable period when a group of musicians from Chicago changed the sound of popular music.
