Johnny Edwards is an American rock vocalist best known as a former lead singer of Foreigner, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame–inducted band behind some of the most iconic songs in classic rock history.

Over the course of his career, Edwards has performed with numerous rock bands including Buster Brown, Montrose, King Kobra, Wild Horses, Northrup, Royal Jelly, and Doorway, establishing himself as a powerful and versatile vocalist in the rock music world.

In 1990, Edwards was selected by Foreigner founder and guitarist Mick Jones to join the band as lead vocalist following the departure of Lou Gramm. Released on June 14, 1991, Foreigner’s Unusual Heat showcased Johnny Edwards not only as lead vocalist but also as a key songwriter, with ten of the album’s eleven tracks bearing his co-writing credits.

An accomplished musician as well as vocalist, Edwards also played guitar during his time with the band, including lead guitar on the track “Mountain of Love.” His tenure with Foreigner further cemented his reputation as a dynamic performer and respected contributor to the band’s legacy.
