The Broken Hearts capture the sound, spirit, and soul of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers with authenticity and heart. Founded in 2017 by Charlie Souza, former Tom Petty & Mudcrutch bandmate and bassist, this group unites veteran musicians dedicated to recreating the legendary live energy of one of America’s most beloved rock bands.

Souza’s career includes collaborations with Greg Allman, Vanilla Fudge, and The New Rascals, and his deep musical roots give The Broken Hearts a direct lineage to Tom Petty’s world. Alongside singer/songwriter Shawn Scheller (Save The Radio!) and an all-star cast of seasoned pros, the band brings Petty’s timeless hits to life — note for note, heart and soul intact.
